TDP may win in 50% of seats in Telangana by-elections

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will surprise political analysts with strong performance in Telangana by-elections by winning in more than 40% of seats that are going to polls. According to TDP sources, it is leading in 2 Parliamentary constituencies and 8 Assembly seats with just 1 week left for polling. Congress may not win in more than 2-3 Assembly seats. TRS is hoping on rising Telangana sentiment. TDP analysis:

Loksabha seats: TDP may win 2 seats out of 4 Parliamentary constituencies. Telugu Desam has no hopes on Karimnagar and Hanamkonda seats.

1. Warangal: Telugu Desam candidate Yerrabelli Dayakara Rao is leading but growing Telangana sentiment may tilt the tide in favour of TRS in the last minute.

2. Adilabad: Venugopala Chari will win this seat.

Assembly seats: Telugu Desam Party will win in 6-8 Assembly constituencies in Telangana by polls. TDP is contesting in 14 segments leaving Musheerabad and Cheriyal to CPI (M). BJP candidate Laxman is leading in Musheerabad due to sympathy factor as he lost by narrow margin in the the 2004 Assembly elections. TRS will win in Siddipet and Kamalapur by massive margin. TDP is betting big on Adilabad, Rangareddy, Mahaboobnagar and Warangal districts.

1. Secunderabad: TDP is ahead despite set back in Cantonment polls. There is severe anti-incumbency against TRS candidate.

2. Alair: Narsimhulu will win despite indifferences among TDP leaders.

3. Dommat: Muthyam Reddy is far ahead here.

4. Station Ghanpur: Kadiyam Srihari is leading over TRS candidate Vijayarama Rao.

5. Huzurabad: Peddireddy will win by narrow margin.

6. Vikarabad: Strong candidate, anti incumbency against TRS candidate and traditional stronghold.

7. Jadcherla: Stiff competition between TDP and Congress. Congress may spend heavily in the last moment.

8. Khanapur: TDP can easily win here.

Verdict: TRS is gradually building Telangana tempo (sentiment) with the help of educated people especially in Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Medak districts which may change the situation by the time of polling. Second leg of campaign by TDP president Chandrababu Naidu may help the Telugu Desam candidates to retain the edge especially in Warangal and Adilabad districts.

My opinion: Telugu Desam Party should support “Separate Telangana moment” and respect people sentiment. This is my personal opinion.

Will Balakrishna take active part in Telugu Desam politics? Does Nara Lokesh have “it” (political leadership) in him? Will TDP seniors allow the domination of Nandamuri family? What are the future plans of Junior NTR?

Telugu Desam Party district presidents

Polls to elect the district bodies once again highlighted the growing indiscipline in Telugu Desam party. No one wanted to lead the party during the crisis period of 2004-06 except leaders like Jyothula Nehru and Brahmanaiah. Now with an on 2009 Assembly elections, everyone is trying for this coveted post. Party Leadership once again failed to appoint youth and women leaders as district presidents.

Only 4 are new presidents and all others are incumbents.

Presidents of the TDP district committees:

1. Prakasam – Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy.
2. Vizayanagaram – Y. Ramanamurthy.
3. Visakhapatnam – B. Satyanarayana Murthy.
4. Vizag Urban – Zaheer Ahmed.
5. Srikakulam – G. Sivaji (New president).
6. Nizamabad – P. Srinivasa Reddy.
7. Rangareddy – Mahendra Reddy.
8. Medak – M. Hanmantha Rao (New president).
9. Mahaboobnagar – P. Ramulu.
10. Krishna – A. Brahmanaiah.
11. Vijayawada Urban – G. Rammohanarao.
12. East Godavari – Jyothula Nehru.
13. Karimnagar – L. Ramana. ( Babu should concentrate on this district).
14. Adilabad – G. Hanumantharao.
15. Nalgonda – S. Goud (New President).
16. West Godavari – K. Subbarayudu.
17. Anantpur – Hanumantharaya Chowdary.
18. Chittoor – N. Amaranath Reddy.
19. Guntur – P. Pullarao.
20. Nellore – S. Chandramohan Reddy.
21. Kadapa – Raghuramireddy (New President).
22. Kurnool – B. Rajasekhar Reddy.
23. Khammam – T. Nageswararao.
24. Warangal – R. Prakashreddy.
25. Hyderabad – Election will be held after Mahanadu.

Chandrababu Naidu should immediately control the growing indiscipline in the Telugu Desam party which was the major differentiating factor from Congress during N.T.Ramarao days. Chandrababu Naidu is still unable to give new direction to the Telugudesam party with clear views on policies like Telangana, Youth and Women in party and Pothireddypadu.

Share your views on new presidents.

Will Devender Goud form Telangana TDP?

Rumor mills in Hyderabad are busy with the speculation about the new party by TDP leader Devender Goud. As per rumors, if Telugu Desam Party leadership doesn’t agree for the formation of separate Telangana state, He will form a new party – Telangana Telugu Desam.

Devender Goud’s actions added fuel to these rumors. Though he met TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on New Year day, he is spending most of the time to meet Telangana area leaders, professors and students.

As per political observers, he has big plans about future. What are his future plans?

As per sources, He wants to form a big organization for the welfare of BC’S, SC’S and ST’S. He wants to become “Andhra Ambedkar”.

But, Devender Goud is keeping his plans close to his chest.

On New Year day, he was greeted by students, professors and officials of Telangana region.

If Devender Goud forms a new party, it is a big loss for Telugu Desam Party in the Telangana region.

Congress will benefit immensely due to split in the TDP votes.

An astute leader like Devender Goud doesn’t know these statistics? Will he take wrong step?

Highlights of Hindu Editor interview in Eenadu telugu daily

Eenadu, Andhra Pradesh news daily, today published interview with Hindu daily editor N.Ram. Excerpts of his views on Margadarsi Chits, Eenadu, Media and Andhra congress government.
  • Andhra government is trying to attack the freedom of media.

  • Eenadu is third largest read daily in India. So, attack on Eenadu is a national issue.

  • Congress government is attacking the financial resources of Eenadu and ETV.
  • I have talked to RBI sources. They said that there is nothing wrong with the Margadarsi chits.

  • Governments never succeed in their attacks on the media. Ex. Emergency in 1977. Voters always rejected such governments.

  • Eenadu wonderfully investigated and published the corruption in the congress government.
  • Eenadu unearthed almost 30 scams.

  • Ramoji Rao bravely said in his editorial as Eenadu is the main opposition .

  • Hindu stands behind Eenadu in this episode. Government should learn to respect fourth estate i.e; media.

  • Congress government is trying to divide and rule the media. Othe media institutions should not fell in this trap . They will face the same fate in the future.

  • Margadarsi has good track record. No investor complained against Margadarsi.

  • Eenadu stood behind The hindu daily when it faced the same threat in Tamilanadu.

  • I believe in judiciary. Courts always do justice.

  • Even Telugu Desam government faced the same problems during YSR's "PADAYATRA."

  • Congress high command should not take this issue lightly. It should instruct its Andhra government with proper guidance.

  • We will stand behind Eenadu and protect the freedom of Media.

Yerran Naidu and Devender Goud - Who will win?

Karimnagar and Bobbili by elections results are going to change the image of these two popular BC leaders. These by elections are litmus test for their strategies.

T.Devender Goud is a master strategist from Ranga reddy district in Andhra Pradesh, while K.Yerran Naidu is a popular leader from Srikakulam district. Both belong to backward castes.

While Devender Goud is in-charge for Karimnagar election, Yerran Naidu is for Bobbili elections.
Both are successful as far as campaigning is concerned. Both marshalled the cadre strategically.

They just over shadowed the candidates in these by elections. If TDP wins in these polls, credit goes to these leaders. Wait and Watch for the results.

TDP is going to win Bobbili By Election

As per polling trends, Telugu Desam party leaders are optimistic about Bobbili Loksabha seat.

There is a clear visible anti Government mood was seen among voters. More voting was done in TDP areas like Vizianagaram and lesser votes are polled in Congress stong holds like Cheepurupalli.

TDP has high hopes because rural voters and women are actively participated in the polling.

Sentiment towards Telugu Desam candidate, corruption charges against Bothsa family and Nuclear plant issue helped Telugu Desam cause.
Please comment on Bobbili polling.
