Former Chittoor MP Ramakrishna Reddy passed away

 

 

Senior Telugu Desam party leader from Chittoor Noothanakalva Ramakrishna Reddy (75) died due to heart attack at Apollo hospitals in Hyderabad. Ramakrishna Reddy never lost an election and is passionate about agriculture and horticulture. His son Amarnath Reddy is sitting MLA from Palamaner. He is one of the rare Telugu Desam Party leaders who never lost following among the people in the last 27 years. TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited the Apollo hospitals and paid tributes. Funeral will be held at Kalva village.

 

 

Ramakrishna Reddy is the reprensentative of “old politics”. He is one of the honest and most dedidated politician in the Andhra Pradesh history who sincerely worked for the welfare of people especially farmers.

 

 

Birthday: January 14, 1936 (on Sankranthi festival day) in Kelavathi village (Peddapanjani mandal, Chittoor district) in Palamaner Assembly constituency.

1985: Elected to Andhra Pradesh Assembly from Punganur. He defeated Congress candidate Padmavathamma by 22,215 votes. He got 63% of total polled votes.

 

 

1989: Elected to AP assembly from Punganur. He defeated Congress candidate R. Venugopal Reddy by 10,597 votes. He got 52% of total polled votes.

 

 

1994: Elected to AP assembly from Punganur. He defeated Congress candidate N. Sreedhar by 41,653 votes. He got 61% of total polled votes.

 

 

1996: Elected to Lok Sabha from Chittoor Parliament constituency. He defeated Congress candidate D.K. Adikesavulu Naidu by 61,350 votes.

 

 

1998: Elected to Lok Sabha from Chittoor Parliament constituency. He defeated Congress candidate M. Gnanedra Reddy by 80,081 votes.

 

 

1999: Elected to Lok Sabha from Chittoor Parliament constituency. He defeated Congress candidate R. Gopinath by 18,638 votes.

 

 

His son Nuthanakalva Amarnath Reddy elected to AP assembly from Punganur in 1994 and 2004 elections and from Palamaner in 2009 elections.
