TDP wins 21 Sarpanch seats in By-polls

 

 

Telugu Desam party won in 21 Sarpanch seats in the recently held by-elections. Out of 31 seats in which by-elections were held, TDP won in 21 seats while Congress party won in 10 seats. TDP increased its tally from 10 to 21. Most of these villages are located in Coastal Andhra Pradesh which is a traditional TDP bastion.

 

 

Total seats: 31

 

 

Unanimous: 21 (TDP: 14 and Congress: 7)

 

 

Elections held: 10 (TDP: 7 and Congress: 3)

 

 

TDP sympathisers won in Uppumelli (East Godavari), Bapiraju Gudem, Veerisetti Gudem and Velivennu), Bethapudi (Guntur), Guravarajupalli (Chittoor), Kotthapalli and Noulekallu (Kurnool).

 

 

Total Sarpanch seats: 31

 

TDP: 21

 

Congress: 10

 

TDP recently regained 2 MPP seats from Congress in West Godavari by-elections.
